iv used to drive some trucks that were pushing nearly 300" wb and one had a 48" flattop and the other was a 63" midroof they were that long for a reason though set forward front axles tri axle trucks with several truck mounted accessory's they needed for for the work they did so they needed to be that long. longest truck i ever drove was 315 wb. they were all that long for a reason however.
the trucks trucks that are stretched that long just for show, i guess i could go ether way. a bit impractical to be that long without having a reason to be. they do look good and them guys keep there trucks looking good. im more a function over forum guy but i do appreciate the guys that have put a lot of time and money into decking out there rigs and there passion and vision show threw and that is what i like about looking at there rigs.
What is COOL about a Extended Frame ?

I've been in love with trucks that have just enough space between the sleeper and trailer to look good. I love stretched large cars but if it was me, I like the look of a pete with a 280" wheelbase with dual 150 gallon tanks and tool boxes so that you don't see any frame. I like the slick look of that.
Kona has one gorgeous ride for sure.Lucar Thanks this. -
I like any truck that looks taken care of...that's cool to me.

No overall length limit on the national network. And what's cool? Being able to fit this behind your seat:
macmanboomer and mp4694330 Thank this. -
Yes its nice to have the motor home style sleeper but the luxury comes at a cost and not only when you buy it but for the lost $ from the freight you cannot haul to compensate for the big sleepers weight.

Then if one wishes to sell such a rig, the next person will have to have a need for such. I suppose that in some parts of the country, where the roads are straighter, and as such a longer distance to drive, those behemoths are ok. But of course as many of us know, here on the east coast, and maybe even the upper central part of the country As in Chicago area), they are useless. When it comes down to it, for those that pretty stay on the road for months at a time, they want comforts of a home. I just like having a job where I can park the rig on company property daily, and walk away, as my comforts ARE AT home.

Once again, it comes back to the individual's choice. I've never had to "live" in a truck, although there have been jobs where I spent much more time in it, than I did at home. But for general overall use, comfort, (in the sleeper and the driver's seat,) I prefer the ah crap, my mind is blocked again. . .The Volvo style, whatever the hell it is called.
I've made some trips in long nose Pete's and KW's, and while they do have a nice ride, they are a little tougher to maneuver into tight spots. I can't imagine trying to put one of those stretched frames into some of the produce picks I used to make on the coast.
