    Thank you!!

I think the same way. I'd take less money, as long as I can still live comfortably, to drive a long nose pete or truck of my liking than to make more driving something I'm not happy with

I'm a beer truck driver here in Cleveland, Ohio and we have some new trucks down at my yard and the wheel base on them is longer then the old trucks we had. Personally for my line of work the shorter the wheel base the better. Our little M2's were sure weak and the new one's are night and day better, but those little M2's could wiggle in and out of anywhere. Our new M2's have a longer wheel base, personally I think it's to long, but it is manageable.

To me in my line of work a long wheel base wouldn't work at all it would defeat the purpose. In fact if we were going to have long wheel bases I would say get rid of my trailer and give me a straight. All the long wheel base does in my line of work in the city is block driveways and make my trailer stick out farther then necessary.

However for long haul trucking out west over the road there fine trucks or up in Canada in Alberta or Saskatchewan where you can see for miles and miles there perfect.

Same with my line of work. The longer wheelbase would make it impossible to fit into some of our stores. I did one tonight that you have to make a u - turn to get into it properly and the street isn't wide enough for anything longer than our trucks to do and u turn.

Unless we were to have dedicated stops, I'd choose a long wheelbase pete and choose to just deliver to the truckstops we do. Plenty of room then haha

I took an average of 3,000 miles per week times 50 weeks give or take at today's fuel prices.

You forgot to mention that you have a substantial amount already in your retirement account, and that you will retire on your terms.

Perhaps I would feel differently, had I ever been an O/O. But being as how I was always a company driver, my truck was just a "tool," to make money with. Of course I would see to it that it was maintained. I don't like sitting in a shop, or beside the road any more than anybody else does. I just never had the desire to drive a "tricked out" truck.

That doesn't mean that I don't like the looks of them though. And if somebody wants to spend their money that way, more power to them!

My truck is a tool, too. I wash it before I wrench on it whenever possible, because it is much nicer to work on a clean truck. Other than that? It gets rinsed off when it rains. First job site I hit Monday morning will undo any washing I may have done over the weekend anyway, so why waste the time? This truck is as stretched out as it is, because it had all of the other specs I wanted, rather low miles on the clock, and for a darned good price for what it was. The wheelbase was the only compromise I made (had been looking for 200-215", this one is 240"). I like it, though. Rides nice. Does the job, even if you DO have to think about what you're trying to do a little more than you would in a short wheelbase truck that cuts on a dime. It is a challenge, and that keeps me from being bored. It is why I don't run interstates, and prefer instead to drive the 2-lanes. It is also why I don't pull a box bumping docks...boring. I need more than just hanging onto a steering wheel with the cruise set for 11 hours before climbing into the sleeper for 10 and repeating the process day after day until I run out of hours, then hanging out at a truck stop in BFE until I've got hours to roll again...

Nice Kilee Thanks for the Pics.

Looks like you have room for another cple feet of sleeper behind you there. Maybe add a Sauna ? LOL

What larger size sleeper could you fit on your wheelbase and still have swing room?
