Load shedding has always been troublesome. The system is controlled by the body controller. Once it sees 12.1 volts or less it will trip the load shedding relay. Problem is, the batteries may be well over 12.1 still, but the power feed to the body controller is bad and so it sees low voltage when in fact it is not. Load shedding can be programmed out and also the cut-out voltage adjusted too. For a simple by-pass we just remove the center console panel, (the one with the cup holder molded into it), and that exposes the load shedding relay. We just bolt the two main power cables together on one stud so everything stays electrically connected even though the relay has been turned off. That way there is no messing around with programming. The alarm still goes off, but nothing turns off.

    Burger Thanks this.

What kind of semi do you have? I have a 2022 international Lt625. I had an family emergency and parked it for about 4-5 days without flipping my idle smart on and it literally took about 2 1/ hours to recharge.

This is a very old thread, but honestly if you have 8 batteries for the hybrid apu to actually fully charge they need probably some 8 hours of driving to fully recharge low batteries.

At least that's what I remember hearing/reading a long time ago. Honestly it could be 2.5 hours.

I'm doing some calculating and looking at the labels on my truck batteries they're rated at 200RC which calculates out to 83.3AH. That should give somewhere around 45AH usable for the deep cycle 50%. Multiplied by 8 for 8 batteries is 360AH total, and with a 300A alternator with no other loads that's 1.2 hours. Headlights, fridges, radio, etc increase that time. Lead acid batteries are weird though so to truly top up it would probably take a fair bit longer.
