CSA NEEDS A REFORM. Cut all this elog stuff out for now. CSA IS THE BIGGEST DISCREPANCY IN THIS BUSINESS. Company drivers who have never owned a carrier/company you can butt out on this one.

CSA IS SKEWED. In favor of large, wreckless, poorly trained carriers. 100 trucks, 1 truck OOS =‘s 1% OOS.

1 truck fleet out of service one time =‘s 100% OOS rate. WOW!!!! Great job FMCSA, you can sleep good at night knowing the children of parents across the nation will be riding right next to Swift, Knight, and Schneider trainees and other non experienced (and could care-less) elog racers.

I agree with you in concept. Anytime a person gets a ticket and said ticket was improper in anyway you should get an attorney involved. However ( Personal experience involved) ignorance of the law is not considered an excuse by most courts. This scale house rules and how to handle them is something very few carriers train a green driver for. Some states say if the lights are flashing we are open for business. Others it means we are closed. Its crazy and the FMCSA should consider standardized scale house signage. It sucks but even with an attorney a driver is not guaranteed getting charges like these dropped.

That is why I film every weigh station/AG Check/Port of Entry/Border Patrol Check I cross. If my Prepass beeps green and they run me down and ticket me for running their scale, I have a video record of it exonerating me.

    Lepton1 and HopeOverMope Thank this.

Yes, there is no guarantee but it's definitely worth a try. I started out a year ago and knew next to nothing about trucking, I was not aware of the convoluted rules and draconian enforcement had to learn by the school of 'hard knock'. This is why we need to write to our representative in Congress in order to make a change, I'm considering to join OOIDA maybe OOIDA can have the influence same as the IRA?
