Thank you. Either I will get lucky and get into a KW 990 with tridems or I will stick with the 6 axles and make it work though it will be difficult.

If you don’t have enough neck you are hurting yourself by getting a 4 axle truck. And do you think you are going to be loading 45 ton? And if you do what is the concentrated rating of the trailer?

If your truck has 34k rears (which I didn't even know they made them that light?) then your truck is inadequate as it sits right now for anything more than your standard 80k gross IMHO.

I imagine it’s 40’s. He just is too green to know the difference. Which means he’s inadequate for anything more than your standard 80k gross

This is where I’m green. My drives are tandems and most of the states only allow 34k on the drives . If you can help me understand this that would be great. Our safety dept is working on updating my cab card for higher gross weight.

34 is legal weight. Honestly I’m not trying to be a dick, but if you don’t know how this works you are not ready and your company is the wrong company to be learning this.

You can get permits for a minimum of 40. Most states are 42-44. Some are as high as 50. But just because you can obtain the permit doesn’t mean you can exceed the weight limits of the tire, suspension and axles.

please, please go to work for a company that specializes is this type of work. You will do nothing but harm this segment if you continue on this path with this company.

    90 MDE: WARRIOR
    90,000 LBS OVERALL CAPACITY
35,000 LBS IN 5' AT FRONT AND REAR OF MAIN DECK FULLY EXTENDED (70,000 LBS TOTAL) CONCENTRATED CAPACITY

    • Extension stops are every 24 inches to allow for multiple hauling lengths
    • Main deck extends from 29 feet to 50 feet, 4 inches
    • Prep for 2-axle power booster
    • Pan D-rings on gooseneck and wheel area, bent d-rings throughout

    • The lift axle is out of the question. The neck/frame of my freightliner is too short and as others have mentioned, it will be a waste of money and will create more problems.

Lightest rear ends I've seen were 38's. Seems like highway spec stuff have 40's, many of the trucks (at least around here) are running 46k rears. Tag on the inside of the door jamb usually lists the rears and steer axle it left the factory with.

A standard spec highway tractor just isn't going to hold up doing big weight and rough jobsites very long. There's a reason they build heavy spec trucks.

Just a quick search of your posted threads on here, alludes to "Just another guy driving down the rates".

    Best of luck to you.
