What is the average mileage rate for a owner operator?

sure say away from flats, we need fewer flats out here anyway. i pull lots of oversize dont give fuel economy much thought i get awful mpg on most of my freight. i get very excited when i average better than 6 on a trip and i do have an aero truck platform freight is hard on mpg so i price accordingly. we last load i averaged 5.7 . took a load from nj to cali. couple weeks back averaged 4.4. dont worry i made money on though.

 

so when pulling open deck freight, not o.s. or over weight, how much is gained by the areo tractor with regards to fuel mileage?

 

Like I said it don't matter what trailer some pull there still go under because of the decisions they make. I get sick of guys saying they can't wait until they get a step well I have flat and step and I haven't hooked to my step in months.

 

That's right you could give five drivers the same new truck and trailer and three years later only one will still be running I see it all the time.
i had a guy call me Sunday he works for a LTL box company he wants to buy a truck and trailer be home every night and profit $2,000 a week after all expenses I told him good luck it won't happen he said I make $1,040 a week take home have insurance 401k and home every night, I told him what he is doing don't cost money to make money that he souls keep doing what he is doing he won't get a retirement check being a o/o
