1.82? I thought bull haulers did better than that ...

It actually pays better than it used to. Old school bull haulers bounced over 50% of miles. This killed their running mile. The guys who still do this are lucky to pull off 1.8 a running mile.

Its the highest paying niche in trucking AFAIK. Hence why we got the coolest trucks :D

1.82 a running mile was after the guy i pull for took his 20% cut. If you know another niche where i can net 6 figures after taxes id be interested.

I made a decision many years ago that I will never haul livestock or people. To me, they are one in the same.

I'd never haul another car if I only averaged 1.8 a mile.

Lol its 2.28 gross a running mile on 150k+ miles a year. All contract loads with no waiting on either end. Home every weekend if i want. If anyone here can beat that i'd like to hear from them.

Thats the point of the forum IMO. share whats working and whats not. I don't mind giving details about bull hauling because very few are able to make it in this niche and breaking in without contacts is near impossible.

I dont really care if your grossing 3.00 bucks a running mile on 50k miles a year. If it doesn't gross a minimum of 300k a year im not interested.

I hear cars used to pay real good. Can you gross over 300k a year with a parking lot nowadays?

Gross is not all that relevant- I used to see ads for ats that OO made in excess of 300k gross, if you gross $300k n take home $65k ......then it isn't as good of an arrangement as grossing $200k and taking home $100k.

Yes,but ive listed my costs and income multiple times now as well as details of my contract. Anyone who passed high school algebra would see im conservatively netting well into the 6 figures after taxes. This might get more people to think about bull hauling as an owner operator. We certainly have a lack of good operators/drivers in this niche.

Im pretty sure at this point your just trying to get my goat, but i do feel more transparency from all would increase the value of this forum.

Not trying to get your goat, just stating the obvious.

You've listed the details of your contract: I haven't looked at them recently enough to know them offhand.

If I told you I grossed 75% of your $300k gross, and ran 38% of your 150k mileage- would you tell me that I'm a liar?

I don't mean to insult your pride: your gig sounds considerably better than many that are described in these forums-

However you come across as if you are trying to pick a fight/ put people down that don't do things the way you do. No need for emotions around here.

Different models work for different people: tho I will say generally what people seem to be doing (as per their own descriptions here on the forum) is to my taste .... Less than worthwhile.

Contract freight can be lucrative, so can spot market freight. As can a mixture of both. Any and all can also be an easy path to failure.

Good to hear that someone has found something that works for them!
