On my thread "Can someone help me make sense of this video about LP at US Xpress", a truckers report forum member told me "Dedicated account is usually not as good as a dedicated run." I don't know the difference between a dedicated account and a dedicated run.
What is the difference between a dedicated account and a dedicated run?

A dedicated account would be like Dollar General or something. You may go to a different DG every day, but you only deliver to DG. A dedicated run would be the exact same trip every time.
truckdriver31 and expedite_it Thank this. -
So all dedicated runs are dedicated accounts, but not all dedicated accounts are dedicated runs.flood and truckdriver31 Thank this.
-
Not necessarily ... Relays can be dedicated runs, but whatever freight happens to be going in this direction ... No specific account.truckdriver31 Thanks this.
-
A perfect example: you only get lot lizards at a Pilot, thats a dedicated account. If you only get services from a particular one at the Pilot, that's a dedicated run.
59EX, truckdriver31, AModelCat and 2 others Thank this. -
I like the way you thinkTB John and truckdriver31 Thank this.
-
i would see it as guaranteed minimum pay really. if them lot lizards are at the pilot only. they its guaranteed not dedicated. dedicated is like she knew i was coming that night. so she made sure she was dedicated to guaranteed her work.TB John Thanks this.

No no no, she's like the distribution center. She receives lots of loads every night from various accounts.Brettj3876, TB John, truckdriver31 and 1 other person Thank this.

wonder if its a drop and hk or live unload at the dc. them lumpers can get expensive.

I'm not sure which would be worse, a yard dog shuttling my load or a lumper emptying it out for hertruckdriver31 Thanks this.
