Multi employer pension funds are lacking contributions because very few employers actually participate in the funds these days. Simple math - there's not enough going in to pay out. That's why most new organizing efforts don't even ask for the defined retirement benefit.

Have you ever actually been involved in bargaining? You're insinuations regarding violence seem dated to me.Dumdriver Thanks this.

Well in trucking that means squat. This IS a trucking website after all. Not to mention I live in one of the most heavily union regulated cities in the country and i can tell you for a fact that there's plenty of non union work here.
In fact, electricians are cleaning up with the jobs that union companies can't compete with. Same with the carpenters' and iron workers. I dunno. That's just my experience.Pintlehook, born&raisedintheusa and street beater Thank this. -
I apologize that no one bit on your attempt at trolling this thread. Run along now, the grown ups are talking.Dumdriver and scottied67 Thank this. -
Don't be offended!
Question: what is point of unions?
Just wasn't PC.
Let me fix it for your liking xD
Worker: this sucks.
Boss: suck it up
Workers with similar skills: well we ain't doing it!
Ethier they get replaced or if their skills can't be replaced by a machine and have enough ppl conspired in the plan they get what they are whining about.
Same thing?
So the point is to do less work for more money. Enjoy your next zone of barrels with no workers in sight sir...
