Hello, im just wondering if anyone knows what kind of temperatures are coming out of the stacks or exhaust pipes and going into the atmosphere. Im sure its high especially during a regen cycle so if anyone knowz those 2 temp ranges, id be happy to hear.
I understand that regen requires 600 deg celcius or 1100 deg f to conduct the proper regen cycle. But if trucks are dumping 1000deg f gases into the air for 30 min at a time once per day.... i think we have a bigger problem on our hands than the exhaust pollutants.
Thanks in advance.
What is the temp of gas coming out the exhaust pipe?

i googled it..
Hot Exhaust Gases
Diesel engine exhaust gases vary with speed and load. High loads and high speeds result in the highest temperatures. Generally, temperatures of 500–700°C (932–1293°F) are produced in the exhaust gases from diesel-cycle engines at 100% load to 200–300°C (392–572°F) with no load. Exhaust gases normally discharges at a temperature of around 420°C (788°F). -
1100f is normal for a regen. Probably sub 900 out the stack depending how long your exhaust is.
If you are doing a 30 min regen once per day something is wrong. Can usually get 100hrs between regens on newer engines.
Not sure what you are trying to get at here. Lots of trucks run around 900f working heavy pulling a hard load. My 6.0 runs 1200f pulling my camper.Rubber duck kw and AModelCat Thank this. -

The stacks are going to be closer to 500 degrees or so, give or take. Way less than that in some vehicles if the piping is long enough.
Emissions trucks try to generate about 1200F or higher and you wonder why they burn up down to the frame across the USA now and then. -

Put ur hand up there and tell us how hot she is

You all are real funny. I just wanted some facts. I googled too and i recognized the temps are at exhaust manifold, not out the pipe. If there is an agenda its to weigh the benefits of the dpf system vs the extra heating dpf regen requires. Because the def and dpf systems have gotten so expensive to maintain and they are so intrusive to normal operations.
Truth is the whole climate change arguement is a whole lot of suspicions and not much evidence beyond the observations. No-one analyzes the sources of heat and their impacts, just carbon dioxide and thats not a very wholesome look at the problem.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Weather reports are determined based on how many regens will be performed in the area.
