It was.
I wont be doing that again, if you ever knew how BAD I-270 was. I was so stupid doing that, I could have called the Law and have them ride me to that semi on the way back. I had to jump into the median about 2 feet from a car standing on his brakes causing a herd behind him to do the same. I thought I was dead. -
I drove a 2014 T680 that had the same problem. My coolant level was fine and the sensor went out in the middle of the Mohave. I pulled over and unplugged the sensor and tied it up. It stopped the beeping and I got it fixed the next week.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Did you find the cotter pins that loosen the bull rack so you can fold it down. My first time doing a pretrip on a truck with a bull rack I was glad there was an experienced hand to show me how to do it.

If it is not leaking out , it is leaking in .Hegemeister Thanks this.

My guess is that there was an air pocket in the system. Recommend to fill coolant system using a vacuum unit, like an Air Lift kit or a dedicated coolant vacuum system. Air pockets can do serious harm to a motor. The days of just pouring in coolant and burping are long gone.

Coolant doesn't have to leak OUTSIDE the engine... It can just as easily leak INSIDE the engine, which is mu ch harder to detect and repair and can also cause some serious issues if not fixed.... Not saying yours is leaking inside, just throwing the info out there for ya.Lepton1 Thanks this.

And slow and minor exterior leaks are often not obvious at any given point in time. Point is, if you keep having to add minor amounts of coolant to maintain a given level at a given temperature, it has an issue that needs to be investigated and discover the cause(s) before larger problems develop.
Cattleman84 and Lepton1 Thank this. -
If your coolant system isn't cared for properly, the sensor metal will develop a film over the metal. You can pull the sensor and clean it...if it's your own truck. Shop mechanics will replace with a new one.
