I am not sure what you are saying, with an exempt truck, unless your company requires you to use it, there is no need to, infact it doesn't even need to be in there, period. The truck doesn't even have to be exempt, if you are running local and don't need to even run paper logs.

You’re not far off. It’s not in my truck, but the story goes like this. Cop: give me your documents and show me your blank paper logs Driver: sure but don’t you want my logs? Cop: no Driver: Are you sure. I can print them Cop: I know. I hate those things
