    Awesome.

I’ve had a few interactions with Apple Support, mostly via an Apple Store, and have mostly been very impressed. A few times I didn’t get what I wanted but I was asking/suggesting something a bit much.

But ya, they do go above and beyond if the issue is legit.

FedEx finally made my delivery and I have the Apple Factory Replacement iPhone 8. Its model number starts with an N, not the typical M seen with retail units. I closely examined the entire case and screen and can see no blemishes. The battery is sitting at 100% and when I hook it up to 3utools it has a 100% rating as it relates to any replacement hardware. Not counting what I lost with the iPhone 7 fire I am sitting a bit under $300 with this device. Hopefully, I can get 2 or 3 years of service with it.

    Awesome.

Ya, you should get a few more years out of an 8. I got 4 years out of my 4S and I’m in my 6th year on this 6S+ but it’s getting replaced this fall with either the SE2 or whatever they release this fall.

one reason I don’t mind paying the perceived “Apple Tax” is because I get some many more years of use out of them.

Still occasionally using an 11 year old MBP too. It’s maxed out on software and not supported by some programs because of the older macOS but due to be replaced soon too with either the new M2 or M1X when they are released.

I am pleased with this 8. I am a bit bummed that the back case is made out of glass. I understand why! Still wish Apple would have also made a non-glass model for clutzes like me!

I actually bought two cases. I purchased one at Walmart Sunday. I also got a cheaper one off Amazon last week. The more expensive case from Walmart is more secure, but it's hard to press the side buttons. So I am going to offer that Walmart case to someone I know in my Apartment area that has an iPhone. I am also planning to see if I can get it covered by Apple+ care. According to the Apple Repair website a cracked back case out of warranty will cost almost $400. If I can get Apple care+ it is about $150 and I will only have a $99 fee. Right now my 8 is in a case.

Edit: Just got off the phone with Apple Support. Apple will not offer Apple Care+ to this replacement phone!

that’s unfortunate they can’t add AppleCare on it.
