We are less than a number. Numbers count for the company, money is everything.

The hotel that I stay in two times a week was lit up with covid. I caught it from them. Just like trucking companies they only care about money. NOTHING else.

Sorry for what happened to you and glad it was a light version and you are well now.
I disagree that all companies are like that.... at least my former companies were not like that.
So many times when a driver got sick or had to go home in a hurry for family or healthy reason, my former company would put them in a plane if that were necessary and fly them home. When I needed to take care of my health and my family in another country, they gave me 3 months of FMLA and when I got back they put me in the same truck I was before. Nobody used that truck during the 3 months that I was abroad.
The other company I had before that, it was a mega company decades ago... Twice I had to go abroad again and in both times my dispatcher expedited everything for me to travel and he had a truck waiting for me when I got back... he was almost like a "friend" to me....
Not all the companies treat drivers like numbers... it depends on the company and also the way the drivers interact with them...
    Stay safe out there... :)

If there's no pet weight limit, I'm getting my 175-pound English Mastiff his CDL, and we're applying.

I noticed the OP was just fishing for referrals then left. That’s okay, still a good thread.

Variant is us xpress just rebranded.
US Xpress pet policy is $500 NONrefundable (transferable if you change trucks). Limit on breeds (on Aggressive breeds) weight limit 75 lb. Cats must be declawed...

The only way variant drivers make money is Recruiting (thay all do it) They get a bonus PLUS .02-.03 cpm for all the miles YOU DRIVE for 6 months..... you should see them head hunting at the USx terminals.... I love to play along with them for 1/2 hr or so.... all that sound great and the like then BAM "my truck has usx on the side and I make $2.15 a mile for all miles and I'm home every weekend so why would I want to take a 70% cut in pay" (im a 0/0)... funny as hell to do it to them....

And I bet real O/O snicker when you think $2.15/ mile is good money.

Sure I could make more but really who wants to work that hard....?
I work 6 1/2 hrs a day 5 days a week, home in my bed every weekend. And that $2.15 is after all experiences. Fuel, maintenance, truck payment, insurance. Everything

Well then I apologize. I thought you were referring to gross, not net before taxes, insurance, etc.
