Hello.
Due to poor availability of parts and technical support I really want to convert my cummins 330e to mechanical fuel sistem. Besides injectors and pedal system what else is necessary to convert it to mechanical fuel system and what other recomendatios any of you could bring up.

1. add clutch MC with reservour
2. run clutch hidrolic lines.
3. Install tranny and clutch SC
4. rewire range behavior valve (from VECU).
5. Rewire two VSSs (to VECU and to EECU).
6. Reprogram EECU to manual
7. Reprogram VECU with VCADs pro+ Dev Tool
8. Change control unit list coding in Dashboard with VCADs pro+ Dev Tool

are you writing this for gearbox conversion?
-
Yep. too much work for me)) LOL
hah, convert TGA from auto to manual) the same sh.....t
easy to convert are DAF, Iveco, Mercedes, Freightliner, International,
But not Renault, MACK (new, with VECU) and some other trucks -
but he ask for engine
-
on Volvo, MACK and Renault trucks engine is controlled with VECU by J1939.
You can ask me why there is Engine type parameter is used in VECU (Volvo engine ore Cummins engiine). Really the answer is simple. Volvo Engine is powered with powewr relay in fuse box, relay is VECU controlled.
Cummins engine is powered with battery power with fuses in battery box. Really with this parameter switched to cummins engine EECU power relay is disabled.
For VECU there is no difference what engine do you use. The only condition is that EECU must be parametrised to J1939 controlled, so you can use any engine with J1939 governing, really it depends on ECU, so Volvo ECU may work with Cat 140 pin ECU, Bosch MS6 and MS 7 units, any later the celect plus cummins ECU and many other.
Volvo introduced VECU in 1997, but CAT and Volvo engines were ready for J1939 controll. Other Celect plus and DEEC-IV use J1939 but cant be governed with J1939 and before CM570 appeared Volvo trucks used VECU with Volvo engines. -
sorry for delay...
What I mean is to change from computer controlled fuel system to mechanical system. I just want to get rid of the computer and make the engine to run totally mechanical.(manual)
