otherhalf, i CANNOT seem to get out of PA. and surrounding states.:biggrin_2551:
really depends on the customer base i guess.
i would rather be running around in the NE and logging miles than sitting in my "comfort zone" (SE) begging for a load:biggrin_25525:

    otherhalftw Thanks this.

As long as you are moving, you are hopefully making money!

For me SE was never a comfort zone. Can't stand heat AND humidity, give me my mountains out west!:biggrin_255:

    Ducks Thanks this.

Anyone that loses concentration when angry isn't fit to be a truck driver .

Times are tough right now in the trucking industry. Companies are fighting to keep their drivers with some kind of miles. Me....I don't count run under my own authority and have more the enough work and a lot of it is from company drivers who stop in the middle of a run then I pick up the pieces and delivery.

Bleak....let's look at the economy which took a nose dive with NAFTA.....it has just finally came to head. Trucking industry has everyone who has lost a job think I'll be a truck driver. Well....sorry to say we are a special bred and we don't ever agree with each other on anything. :biggrin_25517:

I have seen a lot and some things I never want to see again. But if you have a clean driving record...yes you need to be spotless anymore too much competition. Can be OTR for 8 weeks or so and not complain, not cop an attitude every time one of us "old" hands try to help you might actually make it past a year. :biggrin_25525: But miles are down for the company driver what use to be 2800 to 3000 miles a week is about 1500 (from what I can tell on the road) and that is consider a good week.

So since this a trucking forum don't squash anyone else's dreams. As far as grammar.....the hell with it haven't been in school in 30 years be happy I can still spell worth a piss. :biggrin_2554:

    I meant spelling wise. :biggrin_25516:

    Stop agitating.

Madbunny, I don't cop an attitude every time one of you 'old hands' tries to give me help. Look at the things that have been said to me. I've been told by some that I'm flat out going to fail. I shouldn't stand up for myself? This is proper treatment? I can post NUMEROUS links with people asking a question and getting REEMED for it. (I'm not talking about Rick's loss of concentration remark, either.) I can take whatever you say, so long as it's said respectfully. Your post is pretty respect. Thank you for telling me what's been jackhammered into my head already.

Saw you in class, 'Bahkum'. One thng to remember is that many older truckers don't want you in this industry. Even 10 or 20 years from now when someone asks you when you got started they're going to see you got started in this economic time. They're then going to automatically assume you're just joining for the money and aren't a real trucker. Another reason is that lots of dead beat companies out for the all mighty dollar wouldn't mind losing their experienced drivers and hire up newbies they can pay less. Your average mid forties trucker knows this. What do they do about it? Scare off newbies of course! Self preservation! I've seen this across all of the trucking forums! Talking to the mod on a different one I basically got a list of people to put on ignore!

I also will give you a new site or two that I visit when I see you at 1. I asked my questions there and didn't get half as much smart remarks as I did here. I'm not saying they BS'd me into a false sense of confidence. I'm just saying this place has A LOT of loud mouth hard cases that don't want you on the road simply because you're not a REAL trucker. You're getting in the business at an economical hard time. Everything you do is subject to severe scrutiny if not flat out disbelief.

Hey RickG, in your signature, you quote 2 Timothy, yet you continue to attack Bahkum, WHY?

Using this signature, you represent a Christian, isn't one of the Christian ways..FORGIVENESS...yet you keep pushing your anger, and or hate.

All I can see this man did was correct some mispellings and grammar mistakes. Can you be so sensitive to little things, whether they be aimed at you or a friend of yours, that you can't let it go. When I posted to him, as a caring individual, he responded in kind, offered thanks and appreciation for words that were not spiteful or dismissing.

Can he be that much of a threat to you to earn your attacks and vengefulness. Yes he started with sarcasm and disention towards this forum, yet named no individual poster for their negativity, and was immediately squashed because he was sarcastic. Has no one on this forum posted sarcastically, with bitterness and disdain for anothers thoughts?

In most cases, if you offer your hand in assistance, like attributes will be returned. A simple thanks, a note of acknowledgement, maybe a point of praise will be sent your way.

I am not attacking you, just asking why you want soo much to see this poster retire from our files.
