in the past, i'd build desktop pc's and install the operating systems.
or, i'd buy a store shelf pc, and "hop it up" as per what the propriety mother boards would allow me to do.
after a while, that got to be a bore.
now the extent of my "techy" is that i go to walmart, and buy a tv, and set up the tv with the remote.
the go to my manually controlled recliner, lean back, and nap, several times a day.
What kind of tech stuff do you guys do?

Apple treated me VERY well last year. I bought a used iPhone 8 off eBay (please don't make that same mistake) sent it to Apple to get the battery replaced and they decided to keep it. About a week they sent me a factory replacement. You can verify ANY iPhone is a factory replacement because the model number starts with an N!

I know the 8 is a bit old, but this phone came like new.MidWest_MacDaddy and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -

It might be a bit old but at the right price it’s still a viable option with a few good years left on it. And a few more iOS updates for it too.
I just got rid of my 6S+ that I had for like 6 years and before that I had a 4S+ for four years.
new or used, they are a good value, in my opinion.LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -
And now that they're working on Linux for Apple devices, it might have even more life left in it than you think.

Linux on an iPhone/iPad???
I have a couple MBP laptops from 2010 that I was going to combine into one device and toss Linux on it.
I had upgraded one with SSD and more memory and then the battery swelled up and cracked the track pad. I replaced the battery and then ended up with another MBP. So I think I’ll push the new battery, memory, SSD into the model with the good trackpad. Should still make for a good Linux laptop I’d think.
But I hadn’t heard of Linux on iOS based devices. That might be cool. I still have my 6S+ in the back that I might toy with when available.LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -

Ah, that’s for the Macs. I heard someone was developing a version for the Mac side. I heard it ran very quickly on Apple Silicon too. But it’s still in alpha so we will see what happens with the final product.
I guess if they developed a touch interface for Linux, porting it to iOS might be an option too. Maybe.LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -
