Wow, can not believe the vast amount of conflicting info out there about this little question of if the law requires them.
From what I can gather you are all wrong, the issues is effectively stuck waiting for the Fmcsa to send the courts an acceptable anti-driver harassment rule.
But did any one read the requirement? What it requires and what E-log companies say it requires are completely different. There is no requirement for real-time, or any remote reporting. Only that the device, or software, logs with auditing. You could meet these requirements with a simple smartphone app, as long as it supporting the audit trail requirement. I really don't see the big deal with it? -

Swift does use EOBRs/ELOGS
Qualcom MCP200 is what they use.
You'd have a much easier time If you didn't worry about ELog/EOBRS so much. -

our company, over 100 tractors, north central il. paper logs, the boss is threatening e logs if our scores don't come down. I guess we will see, id move to a smaller company if that's the case. b

I know I'm ignorant, but if I got work for a company that uses paper logs, can I as a driver subscribe to my own e-log service?
Such as this one like, but not necessary , this one? I just hate paper.

Not sure why so many people are afraid of elogs... much simpler in my experience. Unless you are running a little less than completely.legal, I am jot sure the objection.
