Also remember, all of them record all the time. You can’t say only when triggered because how would the camera know to film before you hit something or someone hits you? It would be useless to start recording after the impact.
what ltl companies don't have camera's in the truck?

And that’s why some companies, like Swift, have decided to disable their inside cams. Why potentially give more ammunition to opposing lawyera?Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this.

Linehaul driver at Saia.
Cameras are Lytx, driver and road facing, with audio. Per the company, cameras trigger on over speed, following too closely, hard brake, accidents, etc etc...but...how does the camera catch smokers smoking in cab? Or folks using their phone? Drivers should be under the assumption that they're ALWAYS being recorded and will be punished/written up/terminated for anything, at any time depending on the available labor pool and how HR/your TM/office drones feel that day/week.
Saia is scary as far as their need to assert control from corporate and promote 'safety', but really they just solely rely on and weaponize their drive cam waiting for a 'gotcha' moment to occur.Last edited: Nov 13, 2021
McUzi, MACK E-6 and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
SAIA's weaponization of their cameras was one of the things that kept me from considering them a "forever home", and the only thing that they ever would get me on was speeding because let's face it, in New England if you have a stretch of highway where you are able to do 68 in CT or NY through their 55mph zones, you're a fool not to at least temporarily take advantage of it.WannaGoTrucks2016, The Shadow and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.
