The video he put out on pay is a little assertive. I don't really care for the presentation style but just boggles my mind how these spots don't have a waiting list in some areas. I remember what it was like in 2005-2007 general manufacturing was paying 10-11 an hr in my area. Hasn't really gone up either. I couldn't sit back and watch life pass me up barely getting by.

Dude UPS aint all its cracked up to be. These dudes are posting their checks but they aint telling you the junk schedule they have to work. Unless you have 15 or 20 yrs under your belt, your start times stink and your time at home suffers. Feeder guys make bookoo bucks but your seniority on the board is constantly in jeopardy cuz some booger from parcel with 10 years in can slide over to feeder and bump you down the list if you have less time in the company. Plus w feeder, your days off coupd be middle of the week so you dont even have weekends for family time.

Go freight if you really have your heart set on ups. At least its M-F schedule and you'll still have your wknds off, even though your start time could be as high as noon or later.

You sir are correct, I was one of those guys. 15 years in a package car, made the jump and bumped a dude that caused a big chain of bumps and messed everyone up lol.

Yeah only way I’d work for ups is feeder or parcel for the benefits. I heard ups Freight otr doesn’t get the same pay or benefits. If it’s mesnt to be it will happen but if it doesn’t work out it won’t break my heart.

I had an opportunity to go feeder last october when I was with freight. Once I heard about the way they work their seniority, I said to heck with that. No way was I gonna put my time in on extra board and working all those crappy runs just to have some pencil neck parcel guy slide over and bump me after I put in my dues lol. I wound up leaving all together after that contract went through. I saw the true side of ups, and saw how they truly value their guys, and said no more. But to each their own. Im in the trades union now and love it.

Trades union? I heard of something like that on the military apprenticeship website. Are you in hvac or another skilled trade

I left after 17 years, it ain't what it used to be. It's a great job money and benefits wise but other than that the last 5 years have been hell. The shareholders are tearing the company apart. What trade did you get into? I'm a union welder now.

I like how you said some booger or pencil neck from parcel. Made sitting in line at the refinery more enjoyable tonight.
