Well, I can agree with part of what you say "This is exactly why you can't believe everything you read on the internet", but that is all.
What makes a clutch brake go bad?

The purpose of the clutch brake is to stop rotation in the transmission so that gears can cog together without waiting or grinding, usually used only when going from low hole to reverse or reverse to low hole.

Do you have any more information or advice. I need another good laugh. I was literally ROTFLMMFAO on that last one.

I will see if I can find some of the old advetisements, but there is no need for a clutch brake while setting still if it is up to temperature, unless you don't want to get the clutch adjusted. I have ran with out them for years, and still can, I can wait a second and a half until it coasts to a stop.

I can not find any of the OEM advertisment material from the seventies, I have searched online for an hour and I give up. All the advertisement material would have been on paper, and would had to have been scanned to an electronic format to be used on computers or the internet. I have no way to prove what I say, but when I was a kid I read everything in sight about trucks and trucking, and I know that I have read this information in more than one place, but since I can't prove it, bash away, I am not going to argue the point without proof, I do however stand by everything that I have posted.

Search all you want to...online and in print makes no difference, you won't find what does not exist. A clutch brake is what it is, and its sole purpose is to stop the input shaft so that you can get the truck in gear while stopped. Nothing more, nothing less.

Not a big fan of EF videos since the last one I watched demanded double clutching in every single gear and it was only a couple years old. As in yeah, you are supposed to double clutch every single gear in a modern EF transmission. Sure, cause I totally want one of my legs to be twice the size of the other from pushing the clutch in 50,000 times every day.
