I have discovered one other reason why I do it, watching that black smoke roll out of them big twin smokers when I'm under the last load of the week puts a grin on my face no matter how bad its been. Lots of people hate their job lots of people feel irreplaceable, I know that I can be replaced by a bent c-clamp at any given moment I have no idea if I'm backin up or pullin up I'm just glad to be truckin.

For me it was about having the life that I wanted and seeing the opportunities in doing things that made me money. I never had a love of driving. I have a love for business and look for the business opportunities.

I think one of the biggest mistakes that O/O's make is they think that they are drivers when that is just a task of the trucking business they are in.

Make no mistake I'm in this business to make money, failure is not an option. Teaching my son to make money and have fun doing it if you don't like what you do you won't ever excel to the top of the field. The main reason I started this thread was all you ever read on the forum is griping and whining, or every broker, mechanic, or company is out to screw them truth be known they screw themselves. I want my trucks to make a statement when we pull on a customers lot, we are proud of what we do, and we take care of our equipment and our customers because they pay our salaries. I have read some of your post you are well known and very respected, you have earned it I'm sure and you have ours here at Dry Dirt Farms. Please don't mistake us for here today gone tomorrow or to be out to build an empire. We just want to provide a comfortable living for our families is all. Not saying that your post offended me in any way it didn't we may want to haul some of your freight some day as things change often in this business I just wanted you to know that you can be serious and have fun too. As far as a love of driving I don't really have that, but I do love a lot of the things that go along with it. Keeps me from having the same negative attitude that so many in this industry have, I would quit if I were as miserable as they sound.
