IMG_20190727_143325058_HDR.jpg It's not an average FLD it's more beefy looking, it's not a heavy spec double frame. So I have no clue. Vin is on the door. IMG_20190727_143340979_HDR.jpg

Looks like one of the Freightliner cab over to conventional conversions.

I don't have my computer at the moment, only my phone so not easy to search for it, but if I remember correctly Freightliner had a program to convert cabover trucks that came back from the large fleets to conventionals, using this Mercedes cab. Nobody wanted to buy the cabovers.

Could be one of these, but I could be completely wrong just as well.....

Whatever model that is I never liked them at all.

If that's the model that I'm thinking of that has a cab that's like the whatever they call it the fl-60 fl-70 whatever it is that the box trucks have.

It's nothing like the nice fld120 cab.

It is a freightliner flc-112 from the mid eighties to maybe mid nineties.

Seems I got things mixed up a bit:

""In 1985, the FLC112 was introduced, this was a totally different truck which used the Mercedes LN2 light COE cab, which would later be used as the basis for the Business Class meduim conventionals. (The FLC112 would later become the FLS "Legacy Class", which used the engine and powertrain from traded-in COE's in a new chassis, kind of a factory glider kit)"

Very interesting. I'm now curious about the cabover to conventional thing.
But the picture truck I think is pretty cool looking. Sits higher than regular fld, and the rear of both doors is notched on bottom. Put a FLC sleeper on that truck would look great I bet.

Doors are notched at rear because that is where the front wheel arch is on the small european Mercedes cabover.
These trucks use a Merc cabover cab.

If you google Mercedes LN you'll find it.

That is the most difficult model truck that I ever worked on. Not technology wise, but access wise. Made me shiver when I saw the pic...............

A cabover would probably be much easier to work on.
