I think it would be more appropriate to not just hire anyone with a pulse and a shiny new CDL.

There's a bar next to the pilot, and a roadhouse style joint a couple miles to the west. Plenty of places just a few miles south as well. Not sure if that J sells beer, they have a smaller cooler.

I have to admit that I have had students come out of the CDL mills that were hopeless and could not back a bobtail up even after 3 weeks. I've sent them back only to have USA put them with another trainer instead of sending them home. Don't know if any of them made it through training, but I doubt it.

As for the guy getting out and asking to help, it might be possible. But I've seen nothing to back that up. Just someone having a lot of fun recording the mess. And there is also nothing that I've seen indicating he actually hit the bridge. Just tore the truck up not thinking and trying to do somthing impossible.

As for the other pictures, what can I say. If id have stopped to take pictures I could probably post hundreds of company drivers and owner ops alike in some kind of embarassing situation.

But why? You can go to Youtube and see all you want. Posting them again here would be redundant and unnecessary. As is posting the same pics and videos many multiple times.

This was the J In Sioux Falls, SD off of I29 just south of I90. I don't remember a Pilot being there.

Sorry, the former Pilot, now Loves, sits 3 miles east of there, between the street the J is on and the Interstate. In fact, they've just opened an access on 60th so you don't have to make the left on Cliff with no signal. The roadhouse is about that distance west. I live just south of Sioux Falls.

Well I for one, dont know the poster of that video well enough, to call him a liar. Rings a bell though, as I got called a liar in my postings about the USA drivers both being drunk, so maybe I an sympathize with the guy.....

I'm not calling anybody a liar, just haven't seen anything to indicate otherwise. I don't know who he/she is but just because I read it on the internet does not make it so. I could easily say I paid the guy to tear up his truck on camera, but that wouldn't make it true either and you'd also doubt it.
You are entitled to your opinion based on whatever sources you have. I only know what I see here.
Hitting the bridge seems like you would see damage to the front of the trailer or the air dam on the tractor but where is it?
Just food for thought, not trying to start anything. Besides that video has absolutely nothing to do with what happened to your truck. I'm sorry you had to experience that, but from what I know those two have been dealt with.

The guy who posted this video responded to his friends' posts shortly after he put it up, and commented that the driver had already hit the bridge, and when he got out the help the driver back up, "I motioned him back, but he made a hard left instead!" This was well before this thing had gone viral, and based on the context, completely believable. Follow the link in Martin's thread I posted, you can read the comments yourself.

As far as damage, it looks as if all the paint got flexed off the fairing. Look about a foot down and you can see it's bare.
