You need to answer all their questions truthfully, but I don't see any reason to volunteer information. If they want to know how long you've had a driver's license, they'll ask.

Lual isn't generally negative. Insurance companies have to have 12 months worth of your DL being active somewhere inside the US so they can be certain you haven't had an expensive wreck/injuries in the US. It's easy for us drivers to think insurance companies should just take a chance or bend the rule a little bit, it's their money that gets spent. I've seen other newbies on the forum trying to get hired without 12 months of US DL record. I don't recall if they got hired or not. Nobody is making up stories just to crush your dream or to enjoy breaking you plan. We say what we say based on our experience and years of reading the experience of others on this forum.
If I can make a suggestion, don't just ask May's recruiter if it's OK you don't have 12 months US DL experience. Recruiters are the least reliable people in the hiring process. Call May's Safety Department or Risk Management, or whatever complicated name for safety issues and ask them about your situation. At other trucking companies we here read about drivers getting to and almost all the way through orientation before something in the background gets discovered by the company and it causes them to send an applicant home. We all want you to succeed. Nobody here gets any joy if you fail or told to come back in 9 months. But if you knew things about a field or a process and saw there might be a problem surely you would warn someone to double check about that something before taking a long trip, I hope. -
That wasn’t a negative post. A negative post would sound more like, “I don’t think this is the right job for you, perhaps McDonalds is hiring?”
The post was a caution. You don’t want to go to orientation just to get sent home. It’s a good point. -
with my regular driving license, that'll be august with CDL it'll be like September of 2026.tscottme Thanks this.

Maybe I took it the wrong way, I admit it, I saw their laughing/grinning emojis then their reply to someone so I maybe misinterperted it.Lonesome Thanks this.

Might have to wait until September, but try anyway. There's still some driving jobs around Toledo that are local and might do that until September. Keep us posted.

I understand y'all don't, trust me, I am worried about that myself, I surely don't want to go through all the trouble just to get sent home.tscottme Thanks this.

I always get told that no local companies will hire you with 0 cdl experience, cause of how much more riskier the job is.

Don't believe all the "Negative Nancy's" tell you.
Probably won't get a perfect local job, but at least it'll be a paycheck until September.tscottme Thanks this.
