Call king cruise. I have installed a few. I dont see why the generic kit would not work.

I just did a little looking around and looks like alot of the aftermarket cruise setups are electronic and use speedo sending unit signal for reference. Also no vacuum servo. Electronic. Much cheaper than Cruise King but no way as durable I doubt. The last owner must have had the company 16 years because I bought my last Cruise King in about 98 and know it was available as far back as at least 93 or 94.
Great loss to us that choose to live in the past with these old mechanical dinosaurs.

Well, I sent an email inquiry to Rostra and they replied with a contact at one of their main distributors that deals in custom setups. M&R Electronics in Mi. Michael Fox is the guy I talked to. Cruise for a 93 W900L with 3406c full mech and has electronic speedo using their dash mounted switch pad under 300bucks with shipping. Or, use my own oem switches from KW I think he said 210 plus shipping. Only thing is, still have to use vernier throttle when idling as they only respond to speed signal for speedo. I am going to research the switch options and functions of the Rostra Universal Kit and do something pretty quick.

Do you need to have an electric speedo already or does the kit convert to one? Lots of trucks out there still running cable drive speedos. Mine included.

Actually, Rostra sells a signal generator compatible with their cruise. If it is like the signal generators I have seen used in other cable speedo applications it is just a small apparatus about the size of a Skoal can that you put between your speedo cable and the cable output connection at transmission. Has a couple of wires that put out signal generated in a similar concept as an electronic sender reading output revolutions.

Thanks for mentioning that it sparked my memory. I think I’ve seen something like that at a junk yard on a 13 speed out of a Louisville Ford once. The wires were clipped. I didn’t think anything about it at the time and had no idea what it was. Wasn’t on the radar at the time. Passed it up looking for something else on the truck. The engine was pulled and gone but the trans was sitting on the frame rails behind the cab. That yard has since been cleaned out and closed. Sad.
