What percentage does fuel constitute?

    On my last 303 000 miles it i s 23.98%.

    Edit: I agree with @Tug Toy this has a little meaning. It can be better rates, more efficient equipment, better discounts affecting it. But it looks like it is close to the quarter of the gross revenue for some of us.

    in terms of cost percentage I got it as 41% of the total cost.

    In terms of a cost per mile it is 43 cents.
    The average price is $2.69
    MY corresponding MPG is not good at all: 6.30 miles from a gallon.

    Well Blair beat me, last year running over 50% deadhead it works out to about 9%.

    Not sure, can’t think of a good reason to ever measure it like that. I guess it depends if you have your own authority or are leased on. Or, how how much you are letting the broker keep.

    Here is a baseline for you to try and follow. Different aspects can be adjusted up or down as needed as conditions change.

    Weekly: Miles - 2000 Revenue - 5000 Fuel - 300 gallons

    Around 18% for me in 2019. Empty 50% of the time and happy to hit 4mpg.
