I don’t see anything in your costs as far as putting money away for truck replacement.

When it gets to where I would be working for nothing, I stay home. At least it isn't costing me money being out there.

Got a silly question. What would be in it for your boss? It would cost him more money, so less profit for him to make the same as he's making now. Unless you think you can run your company cheaper than him. Somehow I don't think a new authority with new insurance single truck outfit can beat the established 10 truck company.

I’m so lost I’m not looking to get own authority or take out my boss lol. And what’s in it for him? Less overhead one less truck or truck to put another driver in to do more loads. Not having to relay the loads to me 5 days a week. I guess if that’s the view why does any company use owner operators than?

Well the owner said no go at this point however did give me a 5 year plan that he plans to retire and at that point would work it out with the company that I can take over the route under my own authority. So five years maybe but if something else comes along than that’s Gods plan. I said I’d let ya all know. He did say if he could he would for just me but another guy on a different route wanted to do same thing so wouldn’t be fair to other guy even tho the other guys route would make no sense having an owner operator run it. Thanks again for all the advice and comments. Guess I’ll just keep saving my bills and see what happens
