This isnt from a shipper, These are broker loads, All I want to know is some flat rates the you would do the load for?
If it were me, I would want $4/mile for the Spokane and Laredo loads. $3.50/mile for the Seattle and Dallas loads. $2.85/mile for the Memphis and Atlanta loads. But like I said before, you will get a hundred different answers. You NEED to know your cost of operation. Then bid accordingly.
I look to get around 1.70/mile for the Wa or Or LAREDO TX- 1.80/mile Dallas TX- 1.65/mile How are the prices?
Now I see why I'm sitting at home with no freight! Just do me a favor and keep pulling vans for them rates and stay out of flat bed! We already have enough cheap guys in our industry, eventually they will go broke, I hope!
From Detroit 48234 (didn't know your orig. zip) Spokane 99223 $1.98/mile fsc inc. Dallas 75202 $2.11/mile fsc inc. Laredo 78043 $1.98/mile fsc inc. Portland 97086 $1.90/mile fsc inc. Memphis 38134 $1.78/mile fsc inc. Atlanta 30350 $2.10/mile fsc inc. Got these off truckloadrate for a dry van. This is just a gauge to go by. I use it all the time for our operation dealing with brokers and direct shippers. When I bid something I usually add .20/mile to the flatbed rate and include the deadhead miles in the amount. I usually always get the bid.
The reason you always get the bid is because those are very low rates. I wouldn't pull any of those loads even adding the $.20/mile for a flat. I never seem to have problems getting a good rate, but I stick to my guns and don't haul anything that doesn't turn a decent profit.
