I went to a differant school the secound time for three reasons, one the company I wanted to work for (the one I work for now) doesn't hire out of the first school I went to, secound The first school wouldn't give me a discount, and third going through the same school over again with the same teachers and equipment I wouldnt learn anything new, the school I went with the secound time didn't care what the owner of the school wanted these instructors (while still idiots) actully wanted to "Teach" us how to drive, the took us into the city and in the woods narrow country stwisty roads and busy city streets and everthing in between...they almost got off on trying to see how tight/hard/challenging of places we could get the truck into...

Well sorry i went mia. I finally did get on with Ctl and biy that was a big mistake hiring on with them 14 hour days 5 days a week for 500 bucks before taxes. needless to say im not with them anymore.
I quit them and went to work for a local warehouse as a temp. The job ended so i went to work for a moving company and now I'm looking for yet another job have been driving class a for the moving company. But they just dont have the work or the organization for me to see staying there benefcial to me career wise. So now im looking to get into driving the oilfields. Anyone got any advice or leads that can steer me in the right direction? -
Tough break man. Hope you find a steady gig behind the wheel brother.

Ya, I did the same thing I was suppose to go to W/S about the same time you did but in Missoula 09-18-10 ,got cold feet and took a local welding job instead,I was afraid I was going to starve during the winter months just starting out.
I started following your thread and seen you were getting by and making decent money. About 8 months later I decided to go for it and when I called W/S was told I would have to take the whole school over again not just a refresher course.
I waited to long ,so now I will have to go with a company that will take me with a refresher course and have to go with a trainer, because I won't pay for the school again out of my pocket.
So make sure your ready to drive before you pay to go to school plus you can get into the better starter companys instead of the mega carriers. -
wait till after the new year cause some trainers go home and freight slows down and no need to start your training sitting in a truck stop doing a pretrip n snow cause the road is shut down. Enjoy your family cause you will be gone alot
