I started Hotshot driving beginning of September, so I am fairly new to the trucking business. I work for American Eagle Logistics. I am having a hard time making money! Especially at 30% because I do not own the truck. I do hauls in and around Louisiana for the oilfield companies like Fieldwood, COX, PHI, etc etc.... They pay well but are not very consistent.

What I drive: 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn. (No trailer)

The highest I made in a week: $650
The lowest I made in a week $18 (Last week)

So far in 2020 January, I made $1,175.53 (Take home)

I have a great dispatcher but when I ask if there is anything else I can do? They say hand out cards and get requested.

So I want to know what tip or tricks y'all use to get more loads and get more consistent check each week?

I am a drilling consultant, I am trying to owner operate myself on my time off and may be looking for drivers. On every stop in sure you are dropping your card off and there maybe other third parties being trailered there. Directional drillers. Mud engineers etc. leave a card with them. We use American Eagle logistics it’s a large company you shouldn’t have that kind of trouble.
