Really that isn't bad for a level one done by a person on a mission to prove that they can do the job as effectively as their counterpart.

    Haha yeah....

Anyways, thank you all for the comments and what not.... at the end of the day, it is what it is.. not a single #### will change anyway. I hope she got off on writing me this violation that doesnt even belong to me. Yeah, I'm sure she put it on me to stick it to me...... not my first run-in with WI DOT.. but they were all positive (level 3 paperwork inspection).. this one was just looking to dig into someone and that happened to be me.

You should have just duct taped the darned drive shaft, and went on your business!

Any driver worth his salt, has at the very least 1 roll of duct tape.

    I personally carry 2...!!

Maybe it's just me, but the truck broke down on the side of the road should be the first to be inspected. The purpose of a pretrip is to catch things BEFORE they happen. What the truck broke down for did not get caught, so what else didn't get caught.

Having said that, not everything can be caught, but most stuff can.

Just because the break down is stressful for the driver, does not justify the DOT waiving an inspection.
