So I’m leaving in a few days to orientation in New Jersey and I’m wondering what should I bring I know the obvious things to bring toiletries and money but what are some things that new drivers tend to overlook?

pens, pencils, a refillable water bottle, aspirins or tylenol if you get headaches, credit card, steel toed boots, regular work boots, jeans, couple of shirts, calculator, gloves, not much of anything else i guess.

Enough money to get home in case it turns into a sheet show. This is often overlooked. I always keep enough money or credit card with me to get home. Wether it be orientation or while I’m on the road. I don’t know what company you’re going with but have heard plenty of horror stories about folks getting stuck. Hopefully you’ll never need it but it’s better to have it and not need it.

Good advise, maybe the most important, pack light maybe a long walk to the Big Grey Dog. Ask your recruiter.

If they aren't active in my life, don't want them at my funeral. My only request is have a good time if you attend. The song I have requested is Tiger by the tail ( Buck Owens ) .

i forgot to add, if you are driving your personal vehicle there, take along food items, like PB crackers, or others, bottled water, and other "munchies", and leave that locked up in your vehicle.

hard to say if you will be sharing a motel room with another driver or not, or a bunkhouse, that's the way it was back in my day, so protect your stuff.
