Military duffle is fine. You will need a sleeping bag. When the truck is in motion later in training, you'll be hot-bunking on the lower bunk. Pillow is optional, but if you need one to be comfortable it's best to bring it. Some guys use their duffle for that.

Thanks for the response. Another question I've searched the forum google etc and find conflicting info but....what meds are disqualifiers and are certain meds allowed with approval...I don't want to discuss medicine names etc in an open forum....but I'd hate to go to orientation get disqualified head home having already quit my job if that makes sense....thanks.

That's something you have to disclose to your recruiter... make sure you tell him/her about everything you're taking.
-
I did that and her advice was that she was not a doctor...understandable but I have to have been on meds for at least 30 days and it would be helpful to see my dr as I am today for med eval and possible follow up before heading out to get something in writing to bring or at least prepare him for possible contact with doctors there

You will NOT be DQed for prescribed meds, as long as you disclose them. There are some that Prime will NOT let you drive while taking (I happen to know that Vicodin is one); you will have to have your doctor verify that you are stable after being off those meds for a minimum of 30 days.
If you are concerned, email your recruiter with a list of what you take and have them run it past Medical. If anything flags, then you (and your doctor) will have to find an acceptable alternative. Note: Just because something is over the counter does NOT mean that it is OK to use!
I got flagged for Vicodin and sent home on a 30 day hold. Once my doctor and the Prime doctor agree on documentation, I'll be back on the bus to Springfield and get my badge.
FYI, I have to pay for the additional bus rides. Prime only pays for the first one. -
Well on the positive saw my doc today went through all of my meds over the counter and prescribed he wrote me a note describing what they are how long I have been on them and that in his clinical opinion it will not affect my ability to drive a CMV on his letterhead signed and asked to call him or fax any documentation the docs at Prime may need. I understand this is not Primes medical staff but I feel good about it....by the way do you have a return date yet?
-
Not yet. I saw my doc today (Monday), and the nurse at Prime confirmed receipt of the fax. Just waiting on the Prime doc to review it.
