Dry erase markers were my lifesaver, lol. A month on a harvest crew with constantly changing legal names for the fields and a fuel guage that didnt work so i had to write my 900 mile limit on my windshield so i knew when to fuel up. good times..... good times, lol

It's called a StaRat. I paid $80 for mine. It's a device to pull tandem levers BY YOURSELF WITHOUT HELP. Has a red knob on the end, when the hydrolic cylinder triggers, the handle extends and you can see it in your mirror. Worth $100's to me in time, or when you are at that truckstop/shipper/receiver where drivers entertain themselves by watching you struggle without helping.

Also! I bought a pair of the quite pricy tandem stop pins. I want to say I gave $35 for them. Count your holes from the tandem stop, put in the pin, slide back to the stop, YOU ARE DONE! I got to a point I didn't even bother with the reway, I know how the move will shift the weight.

If you are interested in being self sufficient, these tools are great!~

A 18"-24" piece of 500 mcm wire..about 7/8" thick makes a good defensive tool.....a "club" doesn't ring well in court....also being black (the wire) makes it easily hidden # night

Go find a factory that makes weight benches. They'll have a dumpster full of oddball pieces left over from making the chromed bars. Get some. Stick a handgrip off a bicycle on one end. Presto, "multi use tire thumper." The only thing I've ever had an officer say about mine was, "I want one."

And don't forget your phone! iPhone or equivalent, I've been in the middle Houston or somewhere and wanted a Wall World...just call up the map app and search for it...(or barber shop or whatevers) and it pops up with driving directions to all of them:)

    Smaller than a book:)

Instead of liquid laundry soap I use purex laundry sheets. They are soap, fabric softener and then a drier anti-static sheet all in one. And they are much lighter than liquid, and don't ever spill.

Also they are scented so I throw one in the dirty clothes bag when I first start adding dirty clothes. It keeps it smelling fresh.

The last time I bought a bag, they were 25 sheets for about $6.
