I think it’s more of all you’re a Canadian well then let me gouge you on pricing then. i was shocked at some of the prices these guys were given me . $14k for a turbo that’s insane and couldn’t believe a tow was 5-7k back to canada. Like i said it’s money in money out with o/oAnother Canadian driver, Albertaflatbed and Canadianhauler21 Thank this.

$14k is $3500/week so if that's all Amazon is paying here in Canada I won't leave my current situation. However, that must be just Ontario's rates right?
My lanes are either Kitchener, ON or Cambridge, ON. to various upper state OH, KY at times or MI and our O/o's are averaging $4500/week or $18k dry van only, no touch freight. Dedicated calls and they even cover parking with reimburses if you're late parking & having to pay at a Pilot/Flying J, fuel surcharge only contract freight (I asked dispatch about the load board however, they don't want us to get stuck on the road so they no longer bother with it). In these times, some kinda guarantee for consistency is needed so negotiating some type of reasonable agreement only shows the carrier's integrity.
Trucks new or old always have some kind of issues whether it's a breakdown or quarter panel flap bends (DIY fix), Leveller issues (again DIY fix) parts cost though. Too much Carriers in Ontario, Canada try to rip, gyp, swindle or scam O/o with strange wordings on Lease on Job ads like, 'Get paid Up too $150k annually'. You need to pay attention to their tricky wording of 'Up too' because if the base of $90k. It's not worth the effort responding.Another Canadian driver and Canadianhauler21 Thank this. -
13K is pretty bad for O/O. We bought a bunch of trucks from a bankrupt company in Ohio and obviously the maintenance has been through the roof. I told the owner we could go with used challenger trucks but he didn't listen. We had 3 turbos go, and now a bunch of def and coolant problems. Had to tow a couple trucks as well. Maintenance costs are through the roof so they are giving the headache to O/Os at the fault of buying junk trucks. When work was good we were able to gross 10-12k a month as company drivers.Another Canadian driver and NorthEastTrucker Thank this.

That’s really too bad because 10-12k a month for a company man is pretty good and I probably wouldn’t go o/o if i was making that .BigHossVolvo, Another Canadian driver, Canadianhauler21 and 1 other person Thank this.

It's not the best anywhere right now. As good as the carrier I'm on with just lost a couple decade contract they have for over 2 decades and letting a few of us go. It is what it is. I don't think any company is safe in this trucking recession really. Most O/o's are hanging on by a thread whether they're Leased on or running the spot market.

Ironically, I wrote back in June that I wouldn't leave my current Lease on as a O/o if thats all that Amazon is paying up here in Ontario. However, I hadn't a choice becauae things slowed down at the company. I'm still in the process of finishing my application as a carrier for them. However, hearing to many bad things about Amazon not haven't a lot of lowds for 53' trailers.?
