Did you get an inspection report along with the citation? In Tennessee you most likely did. That is suppose to be sent to your employer immediately. They have to sign it and sent it in. If you did get an inspection the offense will show up on your PSP as failure to obey a traffic control device. It will also add points to your employer's CSA score. Get a Tennessee lawyer an see if you can get it reduced to something less severe on you MVR. It won't affect the PSP or CSA, but it may keep you auto insurance from going up. You don't need to report it to Florida. That will happen automatically. You will also need to report whatever you eventually get convicted of to you employer.

PS: Failure to obey a traffic control device is treated as very serious by insurance companies. Statistically. it's an even greater predictor of future claims than a speeding ticket. Do get a lawyer and get it reduced if you can.

How much time, money, and hassle did driving past a mandatory brake check area cost you? How would you compare the time/hassle you saved with the time, money, and hassle of dealing with that ticket?

I’m a new driver. We’ve all at some point done things we shouldn’t have done. I know better now.

You need to actually send a copy of it to them. They have to sign it and send it back to the police to prove you showed it to them.

PSP = Pre Employment Screening Program. It's analogous to CSA. PSP is a report that shows an individual's inspection and crash history. CSA is the same thing, but for companies.

While on the subject of those inspection reports. Unless the states have changed their rules, a clean report is just that a clean report, and once you send it in that's all. I always got a $25 reward for them.

If it's anything like New Jersey you'll get letters from 5 lawyers telling you they'll represent you. That was weird. NJ also has an online plea system. Was there any web addresses on the ticket for pay and dispute? For me it was simple. Explained the circumstances and got a no points ticket which I was happy to pay.
