Going to have to respond to this one. I drive a Volvo, it's not new by any stretch, but it is a great truck. It pulls like crazy and doesn't ride to bad niether. Now to be fair I drove a late 90's model VN and didn't care much for the lack of available space while in the drivers seat. I am over 6'3" and like to recline my seat a little, but in that truck, it just wasn't going to happen because of the way the sleeper was constructed. As far as fleets leaving them, I think that would be a mistake, the safety records on these trucks is rather good. Drivers do stand a better chance of walking surving a wreck in a Volvo(or so I have read). I have been involved in 2 front end collisions (One 4 wheeler backed out of a drive in front of me, and one ran a stop sign) with mine, and she held up great both times, even though the second wreck involved a new hood and bumper.
I have driven KW's, Freightliners, Macks, and Volvo's, and have found terriffic pluses to each. KW's have great style and are really comfortable, Freightliners are light and dependable, Mack's are slow, but you know you're going to get there and are also very dependable, and my volvo is all of the above, minus the slow part!

Sorry for finding posts that are this old to respond to, but, where I park the truck, the guy that owns the place has got about 10-12 old trucks(60's and 70's) that he keeps around for parts or "setimental" reasons. He also has a few cabs (Marmons) and he's got a couple of brand new Marmon hoods sitting in a trailer. He has mentioned form time to time an interest in possibly selling the Marmons to collectors or another interested parties. I think they're cool, and wish I had the time and space (and money) to buy them up and restore them.

I have one of those minus the flat screen. I hate this truck. It has 126,000 miles on it and it is already having major electrical problems. I have had this thing in the shop twice in the last 5 days and it going back tomorrow.

Please retract my previous statement. A Volvo 780 or 670, KW 660, or Peterbilt 386 would suit me just fine.
