Unless they changed their idle policy, be prepared to freeze/sweat or drive really slow. When I left, they cut the speed of the truck down if you idled to much. Needless to say, I had the slowest truck in their fleet.
What to expect

Expect your sleep pattern to be disrupted.

Florida Playboy and rachi Thank this. -
Expect to be out 2, 3 or 4 weeks at a time. So get ready for that. Expect all truck stops and rest areas to be full at night when you need a place to sleep, so plan ahead. Expect some shippers and receivers to have small tight docks with little room to back. Just get out and look or get someone to watch while you back in. Expect heavy traffic in all the big cities.
Your first priority is to stay out of trouble and not scratch anything. Tough it out for one year, no matter what. Then move on up to a LTL company or any other better job.Last edited: Dec 3, 2015

Expect to see lots of accidents on the highways, some construction work in the East Coast freeways. Bring gum or flower seeds at night to help you stay awake. Don't drink too much coffee
