Long hours of sitting without pay. Lots of ramen noodles For dinner. Small paychecks. Not much time with your family.
A friend of mine has worked there for the last 8 years and he's getting ready to look for another job. The recruiter's job is to get you in the door and they'll tell you anything you want to hear to get you in the door
I worked for them for 5 years, they treated me well always fixed any problem I had. Made decent money and was always moving unless it was my choice to sit. In all the time I was there I really had no complaints about them, only reason I left them is a smaller company with a little more focus on the area I live came available and took me.
Not to mention be micromanaged. Sounds like a dream job! BTW I know somebody from Chicago who applied at Knight and they wanted to base him out of the Green Bay yard. They had no concern that he would have to drive six hours each way to get home from the terminal while they have a terminal in Joliet. They dicked him around before even being hired. What a joke of a company.
My buddy said that for the first seven years he liked working there but that during the past year things have really gone downhill and he's struggling to pay his bills.
Tell him to leave for a better job. With seven years experience there is no reason for any driver to sell themselves short to a bottom feeder outfit. Unless his MVR and PSP are trashed he'll have no issue finding a better opportunity.
