You get near a truck, just ask a question. You'll get 50 answers!

If you're on the open road, usually a conversation will start if you tell a passing truck it's okay to come back over or maybe give a bear report. Truckers are just human and some like to talk while some are hermits. Just don't ask questions like "whatcha haulin there trucker"?

 

Just go to the truck stop late one afternoon and you will learn all the trucker language

 

If you see something that might be helpful, you might start out with "Driver of the Blue KW Flatbed...."

I saw a company rig today that had some blue line (I'm thinking secondary electrical) dragging on the roadway....I didn't have a CB in my pickup like I usually do so I couldn't say anything, but I would have been quick to let him know. Tried waving but it was 4am and dark out.

 

Learn the Mile Markers and exit numbers off all highways where you live.

First trucker that keys up with "Break for some local info" will be eternally grateful if he can get accurate directions to his delivery address from you.
