I am laughing tonight. Thank you. All the medicine in the world don't compare to a reminder how I thought to do moon parking. HAW! Once in a while one of you dusts off properly in words a little bit of me in places like that. I don't know about the little bit of plastic, but we have papers, logs, cb mike radio stack and everything in some of those cabs go flying. When it does the poor driver inside is waving as if he is in a dollar booth or something trying to grab money as the semi clears the half of the next crater on it's way to a hard landing.
Has anyone been at the new Pilot in Alsip IL? How is it and how crowded does it get? What's the chance of finding a spot there on a Sunday afternoon?
Might also add the Pilot in Tumwater, WA. They have a difficult narrow lot layout to deal with whether you need fuel or park or scale, you may have to wait in a long line, regardless. If you have to do 2 or more of these, you're likely in for a long, miserable experience there. They are a prime fuel location for many, and they deal with a half dozen rushes every day, 7 days a week. General parking fills early, most every day of the week, usually by 15:00. Even getting into reserved parking can be difficult at best, horrendous at worst, depending on how busy the main ingress line is.
You should try Big Sandy. I forget the blessed name of that little town off hand. Once you worked you way off the interstate into the parking area it's a bit of manuvering to park.
I had to scan paperwork and take a thirty. It wound up being a forty five because I couldn't get out due to all the trucks lined up for the 4 fuel pumps.
Only one I will avoid is the Love's at the Port of Tacoma (ex flying j) because you must have grandmaster backing skill to get into any spot after 1500. They also managed to cram 35 or more extra slots in without increasing the size of the lot. The TA in North Bend off I90 can be pretty bad for an outright mess of parking all over, and people not paying for reserved parking. They have started to tow people who don't pay for a reservation parking spot. The J at Ellinsburg has finally filled in the axle buster bomb craters but it's still pretty nasty. I like the bar/steakhouse across the street.
I was going to add that Loves then saw your post. Drivers reading this thread......you've been warned. That Loves is the biggest hole ever. No matter how tempting it is, don't do it.......
