Oh I hadn't slept and I delivered 5 miles away. I wasn't going to make it to the other side of anywhere. That and if I had tried to hit DC, it would be breaking my "#### DC" rule lol

What about that tiny gas station/truck stop deal right by the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit? Have they cleaned it up yet? I have not been there in almost a decade (thank goodness) but the last time I was there I was propositioned by an elderly lady who was literally old enough to be my granny. She would not get off the sidestep of my truck and I had to finally give her some food so she'd go away. Another time I saw cops busting a driver for something there.

Call the law and have them take her off. People cannot interfere with your truck and it's operation. It is literally a federal case to prevent you from going down the road.

Personally I never park anywhere near that bridge, I will do my parking at the detrioter south of there in the big truckstop there. I have had no trouble there. And there is winsdor on the other side they have a pretty good city when it comes to food shopping etc up there near the customs.

Do not stop anywhere in the city of Detroit, notably Fort street. That is a good place for hookers, drugs, thievery, you name it. A driver was killed in his truck near there a year or two ago while waiting to check in to his delivery the next morning. It was not a drug or gang related thing, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

And good luck on calling the law in Detroit. It doesn't exist except for basicly murder or whatever is worse. The city has no money, and therefore the police budget is also lacking. The criminals know this, and that's why nothing ever gets better. Bottom line, stay away, I would put Fort street at the very top spot of truck stops to avoid.

Well, if a person is on my fuel tank and I am in a known lawless area (I have been in situations where I needed 911 but there is none to have for love or money, no police either. even on a friday night) Im just going to have to roll the window up, select a tree, telephone pole or sign on a flexible metal post in that order. Sweep the person off with a little J turn away to clear the body from the drives. If he or she is hollaring or better yet swearing bad words then I know that person will be ok.

It wont be the first time. Ive a little bit of a cold heart with that purpose but as far as I know no one died what with the bad words coming in the cab aftewards a few times.

As Gokiddogo says don't even park there in the downtown core of detroit. Camden across from Philly is another spot. East st louis is a third. And north ave in Baltimore is another.

Too many holes in that story! From Chicago to Texas, that stop is well out of the way, and the guy drove 55 miles, one way out of route, passing several truckstops that are no more than 5 miles out of the way. He crossed a scale, with a car following him? They took out thousands of dollars out of ATMs over the weekend.

I don't buy it. Probably blew it gambling, drugs and or hookers, and then he came up with that story to cover for the money.

I also don't buy the ####hole that NLR (North Little Rock) is. There is a arena and a number of housing with a railroad yard plus the river with a number of marinas, some attractions and so on along there. Nothing much for trucking. There is even a black college there along with a couple of quiet heavy industry such as home movers.

Now if you moved eastward to Galloway where there is a pilot and petro plus a Loves... well that's a little bit different. We had the Loves robbed at gunpoint at the fuel desk one time a couple years ago, they are still talking about that one that haul must have been something. And there is a bit of parasites around the pilot and front of petro but petro has been removing video games and other small things to make sure people don't hang around inside much. If you are not engaged in telephone upstairs or fueling or eating, there isnt much oppertunity to hang out and try to make trouble. there. It's not bad. Besides we are concealed carry when we sit down for a meal every few months ourselves so there is nothing to be afraid of. And tuesdays are rather quiet anyway.

The threat level does go up in NLR at night along with everything just south of the entire I-630. You know enough never to go there plus University and 65th street especially at night here in Arkansas. You just dont. Armed or not. Leave it to the police to work it. And they will. There is a Sysco on 65th but it's a smaller operation considering what is possible for the area.

But the rest of the story? I would not know too much and not really care for the over dramatizing bits. If it is a kidnapping etc over the top details etc, if you did not commit these crimes how would you know the details? I call it hearsay or rumor if I had to make a guess using what I know of this area in my home. Here in NLR, they simply shoot you. And it will be up to either UAMS or Baptist to decide if you live or die. It makes no difference to them.
