Being that there is no such thing as a “medium level security clearance” I think you are correct. They have confidential, secret, and top secret security clearances.

I guess he could have meant secret but it he had one you would think he would know what it was called.

He meant the security level of his former residence.

TWIC is something has been implemented after 9-11. I never had to use or get one because I was not on the road much after 9-11 happened.

Many times prior to TWIC days, you did get into Military and Federal installations quite a bit. And if you were a good driver, you got to go into them quite a lot. The Gaurds at the gate are pretty serious when they ask you for the color of your eyes. I make a joke and brushed it off as minor besides they are looking at it and on my Class A up there in the Cumberland Depot near York once. They did not take too kindly to that. They really wanted to know the eye color.

The load I took out of there I know nothing about that day, even the shipping container was totally unmarked. On top of that I acquired shadow cars until I dropped it off at the port of baltimore. That was a interesting run.

Ive debated getting twic. It might be nice to have it. But has no value if Im not going to be using it outside of the occasional air show.

To the other poster thinking about clearances, there are a number of clearences in our Government for secrets. Top Secret is actually closer to the bottom rung of classifications. When you get up into a rarified air of secrets then you will appreciate just why they are secrets.

Not that it really matters but the 'medium level' thing was what I said because I couldn't remember what it was called.

He did say he had a secret level clearance.

I think the left side is packaged better than the right side. At least the TV commercials sold me on that.

Twic use to be accepted a lot of places....now those same places either don't accept TWIC OR...... you have to have twic or some other credential they require like Jaxport pass(Jacksonville port) or sealink, Norfolk port will no longer accept it..you must have their port pass also......

Ft bragg is the ONLY ONLY base ive gotten into where they have a lane for those who have TWIC and can go by without all of the crap.

I believe there was a controversy of some sort about the clearances that were being granted on the TWIC that were not allowed, I think maybe even domestic abuse. The bases and other places were still running their own security check then, and that was one reason why a driver couldn't enter. More government snafu that costs money. It does reduce the cost of the fee at the port of Gloucester City, NY and a couple of other places husband has been in the past.

Longarm, KriegHund and Chinatown Thank this.
