I remember way back when my wife and I were teaming for Central one year as a Xmas present they gave us some really nice sleeping bags with the Central logo on them. These sleeping bags were hardcore! You like could have slept in the snow without a tent in these things! They were sweet! Only problem being they weighed 100lbs each! (slight exaggeration but they were #### heavy!) In fact they weighed so much we ended up leaving them at home because we always had weight issues with our truck.
It always is a very good idea though to be prepared and have yourself a good sleeping bag for the winter. Its all part of emergency survival! Were something to happen and you were broke down or stuck out in a good winter storm this would definitely help your situation!
Be prepared right?!
Nowadays I run I-10, Miami - Dallas and my bed roll consists of a sheet and a blanket slightly thicker than the sheet! I do have a really comfortable pillow though!

I have a -20 under my bed. Last winter in Wisconsin my heater went out. It was like 10 degrees out or something. Gets really cold in the truck when you have no heat. Sure was useful. I took it out during the summer and put it back in the truck in november.

If its ur truck use real blankets with a bunk heater..

My sleeping bag is my 'bottom sheet', it is what I sleep on.
I have no idea of its temp rating, but it is a Coleman - all cloth and cotton. A bit torn up and worn out now, and I need to replace it.
Then I have a couple blankets to cover me, as well as the Webasto to keep me comphy.
If the batteries get too low to run the bunk heater I just run the engine and use the normal heater.
And if it's less than around 20 I run the engine just to keep the fuel from gelling, and use the normal heater.
And I still get ragged on for idle time during the low temps, even though company instructions are followed.
No one is ever happy.Mrh2008 Thanks this. -
Personally I have the sheet, and one comforter. If I need more then I can add a blanket or the electric blanket. Mind you this is while the truck is still moving with my co-driver. If we are stopped then it is the sheet + the apu

My sleep system is an air mattress, which mimics my sleep number bed at home. Then a doubled up cotton blanket, then the fitted sheet. On top of me is a sheet and $25 walmart bedspread.
The truck does have a bunk heater, and I only spend about 1 night our every two months.

In the winter I put a -20 on the mattress than a sheet over it, helps a TON keep that cold air under the bunk out, I drive a t2000 so that space under the bed gets pretty cold and rises up to the bed. But what I found that keeps me the warmest is those plush blankets http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-Plush-Blanket-Blackened-Brown/21567720. I am not sure what it is but those things are by far the warmest blanket I've ever used. It must just keep your body heat in really well, they are nice a light weight and very warm and pretty cheap to pick up. I do have a bunk heater as well so that helps a ton
