    That's also when drivers learned how to back properly, now it is turn the wheel lock to lock, and their track looks like that of a drunken snake. Certainly no spinner knobs on the steering wheel like so many people think they need to have now, just another sign of the lack of mastery of the skills of operating a truck.

    I remember my father talking about the early 50's and his brothers drivers having the morning fist fight to see who would drive the new Jimmy diesel today...it went up over the OLD Jugtown Mtn. without looking overweight while the two struggling gas jobs got stopped at the top of the MTN to visit NJ's portable scales.

    Truckloads of coal, engines roaring in low creeping up every grade and flying down the other side, unable to stop if they wanted too, that was Dad's CDL school
