Gross 2700 best ever. W-2 job. Average 1650 per week gross. Small operation. Out 2-3 nights a week. Off weekends unless I want to get a jump on the week, in Friday 1200-1800 out Monday 0400-0600 usually. Run 30% of gross to truck, 100% pass through of detention or tarp pay however

 

I just got a cheque for 28117 dollars.

So that's like 18.5 by the time I pay the taxes if I don't write it off to get it back.

Selling home improvements door to door is way more profitable than driving a truck.

If you are paying taxes, you are making money.

 

Do the math, $.40×5000 miles = $2000. After taxes will be around $1400

 

A truck with a governor set to 65 is not going to make 5000 miles legally a week. You are going to do good to average much over 625 to 650 miles a day. Then after these 7 days are up you are left with little time on the 60/70 hour clock for the next week. This is why when doing this milage math I always assumed a 65 MPH truck that wants to operate 7 days a week every week is better to use 8X7X65X.9X.40 I say .9 because you can't drive 65 MPH every single minute of that 8 hours. Never forget the weekly clock and trucks with governors.

Well that depends. The first company I work for, gage a $6000 bonus if you drive a year. But excluding that, based on just a regular check?

agree with all this, accept, Honestly unless you’re running open lanes and long Long hauls with drop and hook at the end, you’re still not going to average 600 to 650 miles a day. More like 450 to 600 max. There’s always slow downs, delays, waiting to get unloaded and loaded. I average right at 480 miles per day. I like to leave 1-2 hours on my clock each day so I can run steadily on recaps the following week without having to take a 34. I’ll run 4-5 weeks straight like that. Sure I don’t get the huge 4000 mile per week paycheck, but I get a nice steady 3000 to 3500 miles per week, with no days sitting.
