What would cause this?

    I hit traffic that was at a standstill in the middle of the day so I switched to a news station to check the traffic and all I get is some random person talking, I look over at the truck next to me and can read the drivers lips right along with what was coming over the radio. So my question is, whats up with that?

    He was most likely running a dirty RF amplifier, commonly known by truckers as "linears" but the truth is there's nothing linear about them. It's also possible he had the modulation limiter in his radio clipped.

    Either of the above allows the user to splatter all over the band, and interfere with others in other frequencies. It can also bleed into someones radio speakers, and even wipe out TV pictures.
