What would do you in this situation?

Yeah... pretty much. I have some faith in drivers but when they become totally dependent on the company to the point that they need to be told when they can pee, I tend to think they don't need to be in a truck. Now that's really not a reflection on RR here, he is at least speaking about it, others just shut up and do as they are told without knowing they are the ones who actually are in charge.

 

Here is what happened with a 3 rail blew off of my drives the next day.

I pretty much do whatever I want out here. The moment that I upgraded to a tractor with a headache rack, Swift really stopped giving me any hassles. Other company drivers get stopped at the gate of the terminal and told as company drivers they can't bobtail unless it's to pick up a load. I've had my DM and also pretty much every gate attendant at the terminals tell me that not only can I bobtail to Walmart or whatever, but to log off the Qualcomm and drive so I don't burn my clock up or break my 34 to go get food etc.

Swift also doesn't pay for truck washes most of the time. I take mine to Blue Beacon twice a week and scan my receipt and they reimburse it. Never had an issue. When safety was hassling me about driving way beyond my hours, I told them(didn't ask) that I'm driving to a spot that is suitable to shut down, so I'm not parked on the shoulder or an offramp or onramp.

I also don't wait around for loads. If they say they don't have a load for me, I pull out my Rand McNally and start driving toward a major city of my choice where I think I'm most likely to get a load to get me moving. More than once that was over 150 miles. And then my load will be 140+ miles deadhead back to where I was, to pick up a load going back to where I'd driven.

Paid both ways. Top driver in my fleet. Right now a lot of flatbed guys are complaining about freight and complaining about their miles at Swift. Apart from 2 bad weeks, I'm doing great. This ####ty week ended with a 416 mile deadhead to pick up a load in Wyoming, and the way it was dispatched, that load itself went on this week's check. 1111 miles to Arkansas, followed by a 2000 mile load to Oregon, which I tcalled here in Denver, because screw the Pacific Northwest right now.

Their response? 1000 mile load from Golden, Co to California, with a load out of California going 2000 miles to Tennessee. The planners and my DM know who is running the miles and willing to be creative with their clock to get #### where it needs to be. I'm not out here violating hos just to be a dick. I'm just not going to sit on the side of the highway for 10 hours. I don't drive that extra time to get more paid miles in. I do it so I will be parked safely.

Trooper up above possibly misunderstood when I said #### the police. I didn't mean in general. I meant #### their opinion of the violation. My safety was more important. I should have been more precise

 

Kind of what I thought. Top driver, make your own rules, lol. SMH

 

So you are bragging about burning 6 hours on several occasions , just because that's what you want to do. Those wasted miles are costing the company money and those 6 hours for your 11 they can not longer use to try and make you both money ! You are costing them huge amounts of lost revenue , repairs and fuel. Just dropping the truck into gear just because you think your next load may come from this city, will not be accepted long. Truly shocked they do not charge unapproved miles (5$ a mile is not unheard of ).

 

I run more miles than anyone in my fleet because I don't turn down loads. I go into terminals and talk to planners and get to know them personally. I ask what local loads they need someone to handle and on the company rating app, I give them great reviews, which affects their pay. As such, I get better loads and a better selection of loads with Macro 30.

Nothing wrong with what I'm doing. I'm being rewarded for it.

 

I highly suspect I know your actual name (don't worry I don't care, in fact I don't want you to confirm what I'm fairly certain of.) It's a small division. Tune the Bravado down about 10 steps for a second.

I figured it out, and if I did it'll be just as easy for them. You just put in writing several things that could get you fired.

Not to mention. You just admitted to blatant misrepresentation of your HOS logs.

On top of a number of other things.


Let's this be another lesson. Don't admit to anything that could get you fired or result in legal ramifications on a forum (unless you wanna risk it coming back at ya.) Especially when at least I am a member of another board your in. As far as I know I'm the only one here. Though I would highly suspect certain people from the office get on here.

And you gave enough information about yourself just now, though you don't know you did. For anyone half competent with our fleet software to figure out exactly which truck your in.

The claims alone in fact would do it, and that's only the easiest way. So chose your words a bit more carefully, cause this site is only as private as your own words.

(And really not even that, but most wouldn't be desperate enough to risk a felony to figure out someone's name here the other way.)
