The excuse to get the inconsiderate driver to move is irrevelant to the point the OP was trying to make.

I assume the charges for your reaction amounted to
    Justifiable Homieside?

NoW who's gonna move his dad-burned Big truck
    off the fuel island?

That takes years of experience and an ability to read betwixt the lines, no doubt.
It's a tad more difficult to figure out which of the Big truck truck drivers
that park on the fuel island move on to the parkin' lot ---
where they fuel their Big truck.
Sounds sorta backwards, --- maybe it is.
But it is what it is and it $ave$ to siphon. :smt047

not really, it just seemed some were trying to say it was the OP fault for not planning her trip better and defending the guy in some way, sort of a off hand way of defending their possible fuel island infractions

    Razor3 Thanks this.

I just looked though the thread and didn't see anyone defending the parked truck? I did however see many veterans explaining that things happen out here and you need to come prepared.

Stress management would have been a useful tool for this scenario.

Sometimes it's more effective to just go around an obstacle than wait for the obstacle to remove itself. I'd have spent my energy making sure the way behind me was clear since the way ahead was not.
